Born November 8, 1954 in OakHill West Virginia, Dixie Dwyane
Dooley. He lived in Germany at the age of five and then he relocated to
Augusta Georgia with his parents, where he went to school and grew up.
Even as an infant Dixie loved to perform, he played practical jokes and did magic tricks at the age of six.

| In his high school years at Glenn Hills High School, Dixie took up drums, formed rock groups, composed music, and gave concerts. Dixie played thousands of night clubs throughout the southeast. He backed headliners such as the Percy Sledge, Grass roots, and the Dixie Dregs, and hundreds more. During this time Dixie was being asked more and more to perform his magic at parties, dinner functions, and at clubs. Eventually magic took over. In Augusta, Dixie performed his first full evening show and began a series of stunts, escaping from whiskey barrels, mailbags, and driving blindfolded from Columbia South Carolina to Atlanta Georgia. He drove across the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston South Carolina, and while on tour in England he performed at the Club Maximus and again drove blindfolded across the famed Tower Bridge of London-making frontpage news! |
|
| While magic was becoming an increasing force in Dixie's
life, he was asked to do a television show for WAGT channel 26 in Augusta,
Georgia. This show won awards for children's programming and was on the
air for eight years. A surprise phone call from Bill Larson in Hollywood
asking Dixie to appear at the Magic Castle in Hollywood lead to Dixie
using the video footage as one of his TV shows shown in the southeast.
